6 Easy Ways to Add Color to Your Wardrobe6 Easy Ways to Add Color to Your Wardrobe

If you’re like most people, you tend to stick to a few dark or neutral colors. Maybe you find them flattering, or maybe you like their versatility. A splash of bold color can brighten your wardrobe and make people look at you differently. Here are a few ways that might help.

1. Carry a colorful bag

One of the best way to add color is your bag. While the neutral tans, blacks and browns go with everything, they’re quite boring. Pick up one that’s vibrant, like red or yellow, to make people turn their heads. You can always revert to the neutral toned bag when it’s appropriate.

2. Add scarves to your repertoire

Scarves are wonderful additions because they’re cheap, so you can pick up a whole bunch. They offer endless color and pattern possibilities, too. Three different colored scarves can turn the same outfit into three different versions, each colored for your mood. If the color isn’t working that day, you can slip the scarf into your bag.

3. Of course: jewelry

Jewelry, while small, is eye catching. People are attracted to the glittering colors and soft clinking. You can buy pieces that match your favorite outfits, or perhaps pieces that accent your eyes or your favorite makeup. Literally, the sky is the limit – there are countless options. That’s one of the reasons we create so many jewelry designs: there are so many wonderful colors!

4. “WOW!” them with a colorful coat

If you really want to draw eyes, wear a large coat with lots of color, especially if it’s a large coat. Everyone notices the lady in the floor-length red leather jacket. You can’t miss her! If that’s too ostentatious for you, you can still add color with a patterned coat.

5. Slap on some lipstick

Bright lipsticks aren’t so much in style these days, but that makes it a great method to add color. Think of who striking a sharp red looks with a black dress. You won’t find as many color options as you would with bags or jewelry, but the color is all the more vibrant because it’s on your face.

6. Pick up some colorful shoes

Shoes are probably the best way to add color to your wardrobe. Usually our slacks and jeans are pretty basic colors, so anything looks good on our feet. I’m not talking about just heels, either (although colored heals are very trendy and fun). You can add color to your flats, sandals, and even your sneakers.
